Global hospitality company Hilton recently announced that it will rapidly expand its resort portfolio in Europe, with 10 hotels, totalling more than 1,500 guest rooms. Three of these hotels are in Greece.

Opening in time for summer, Hilton’s new hotels will be under its Curio Collection by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton and DoubleTree by Hilton brands.

According to a company announcement, key leisure destinations such as Greece and Sardinia have increased in popularity in recent years and, in the last year alone, Hilton signed more than 20 resort hotels across Europe, Middle East and Africa under six of its brands. This growth is part of Hilton’s strategy to develop its portfolio of resort hotels, which has doubled in the last five years and now stands at more than 300 hotels worldwide.

“Guest demand for high quality resorts in both longstanding international hotspots and up and coming leisure destinations is growing, leading to increased interest from owners in developing resort hotels under Hilton brands,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton.

“With 10 European resort hotels due to open in time for the summer season, we’re introducing outstanding properties to popular destinations including Ibiza, the Algarve and Crete, expanding our range of resorts across the region under different brands,” Fitzgibbon added.

3 hotels in Greece

Out of the 10 hotels to open this year by Hilton, three are in Greece – two on Crete and one in Agioi Theodoroi.

Located in the southeastern corner of Crete, Numo Ierapetra Beach Resort Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton is a 132-room beachfront property designed for adults in the lesser-explored area of Ierapetra, southern Crete. The hotel follows a franchise agreement with NUMO Hospitality, marking Hilton’s second property with the owner following the opening of Royal Senses Resort & Spa Crete, Curio Collection by Hilton in 2021.

This summer will see the Isla Brown Chania Resort operate under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand following a franchise agreement with Brown Hotels. The 5-star Isla Brown Chania Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton is located in Chania and features 201 rooms.

The third hotel in Greece to operate under the Curio Collection by Hilton brand this summer is the Isla Brown Corinthia Resort & Spa, a 5-star, 166-room luxury resort located just 10 minutes from the Corinth Canal. The addition of the Isla Brown Corinthia Resort & Spa into Hilton’s Curio Collection portfolio is also part of a franchise agreement with Brown Hotels.

The company has also announced the Hilton Alvor in the Algarve in Portugal, opening in 2026.
