The fam trip comes as part of Greek Tourism Ministry efforts to adopt and establish public policies for accessible tourism, such as improving accessibility to the country’s beaches. During her trip, Stohl visited the Athens Concert Hall, the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, Ellinikon Park Experience, the Peace & Friendship Stadium in Faliro, Nafplion, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Crete (Heraklion, Knossos, Chania, and Rethymnon). Photo source: GNTO She also met with representatives from the National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities (ESAMeA) with whom she discussed issues affecting people with disabilities, particularly in popular tourist areas as well as at airports, public transport, theater and cinemas. Government initiatives to improve accessibility and the quality of life also topped the agenda. Stohl’s visit was organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) in collaboration with the Greek Tourism Ministry and the Crete Region. Her feature on accessible/inclusive Greece is scheduled to run in the September-October issue of New Mobility magazine, the GNTO said.
