The restaurants of the NEW Hotel in Athens are stepping into a fresh era with innovative concepts and menus for the upcoming summer season. Situated in the heart of the Greek capital, the NEW Hotel has revamped its Lobby Bar and Art Lounge rooftop restaurant, drawing inspiration from nature and earthy colors, and has set new opening hours. “A genuine urban oasis can now be found on NEW Hotel’s ground level, where nature and its vibrant colors are now at the heart,” the management of the hotel said in an announcement. The planning of the new menu was overseen by Executive Chef Babis Kountouris, while the renovations were carried out by the architecture firm Manhattan Projects. Lobby Bar: Cozy ambiance and contemporary urban flair NEW Hotel Art Lounge Smoked mackerel ‘tsirosalata’. Comfortable seating, adorned with carefully selected fabrics and lighting, alongside impressive decorations, enhance the ambiance at the Lobby Bar. The architects skillfully blended elements of nature with an urban Athenian aesthetic, creating a welcoming space suitable for every moment of the day. Especially for the newly renovated restaurant, Kountouris has curated a menu featuring dishes perfect for a leisurely lunch with friends or a refreshing break after exploring the city. Guests can indulge in a variety of options, including healthy salad bowls, signature burgers like the smashed beef burger, pasta and risotto, black angus moussaka, and Iberico pork “gyros”, all “honoring” Greek cuisine. For those with a sweet tooth, the chef’s recommendations include ice cream banoffee, tiramisu, and cheesecake. Additionally, the Lobby Bar will continue to offer the New Hotel’s popular brunch from October to April. Art Lounge: Greek-inspired menu with Lycabettus view The hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Art Lounge, offers new culinary experiences with stunning views of the city of Athens. For this occasion, Kountouris has crafted a menu infused with influences from Greek gastronomy, focused on fresh ingredients and modern culinary techniques. “Opening its doors at 6 pm to welcome guests, it serves as the perfect spot in the city for an early drink (the Meltemi signature cocktail featuring ouzo, honey, and cucumber espuma is always a good choice) or for a delicious dinner in an environment adorned with contemporary art,” management said. Highlights of the menu include: – Tartare “soutzoukakia” made with beef fillet, Middle Eastern spices, and tomato confit – Smoked mackerel “tsirosalata” with melon, aged wine vinegar, and herb salad – Fresh red mullet “bourdetto” with virtual potato risotto, black garlic purée, and “bourdetto” sauce – Pavlova with yogurt cream, strawberry sorbet, sweet spoon rose – Roasted peach (V) with espuma catalana, granola, arlette, thyme, olive oil The NEW Hotel is a member of YES!
