Dubbed “JOBmatch”, the free application for iOS and Android devices is aimed at helping tourism, hospitality and Food & Beverage enterprises fill vacant positions in view of the upcoming tourism season. According to recent data, some 50,000 positions in tourism, F&B, and hospitalty are still unfilled. JOBmatch aims to address these staff shortages by bringing together employers and potential candidates. DYPA Governor Spiros Protopsaltis said JOBmatch, currently running in pilot phase, was an innovative tool which will effectively and immediately connect businesses looking for employees with the best candidates. He went on to add that following the app’s test run, assessments will be made to ensure it is efficient. Once employers and jobseekers create a profile on the app, they can then specify job preferences such as location, job type, wages, skills and qualifications. Using this information, JOBmatch generates tailored results, enabling users to arrange interviews. Labor Minister Domna Michailidou said the new application was an innovation aimed at supporting two very important sectors in need of employees and addressing unemployment.
