The US travel magazine Global Traveler has once again recognized Greece as a premier destination for American travelers at the Leisure Lifestyle Awards. Since 2012, the Leisure Lifestyle Awards have been a beacon of excellence in the world of leisure and lifestyle travel, recognizing outstanding goods, services, destinations, hotels, airlines, airports, cruises, and more. For the third consecutive year, the magazine’s readers have voted Greece as the winner in the Best Historical Attractions, International category, underscoring its rich cultural heritage. “Our readers are discerning travelers who know the best of the best in the travel industry, so this winners’ list serves as an invaluable guide for planning your next trip. Santorini: Europe’s Best Island Moreover, the Greek islands of Santorini and Mykonos also excelled in the Best Island in Europe category. Santorini once again was recognized as the Best Island in Europe for the 11th consecutive year, solidifying its status as a premier destination for US travelers. Renowned for its breathtaking beauty and traditional Cycladic architecture, the Greek island recently earned recognition as the top cruise destination for 2024 and was also voted one of the best honeymoon destinations for the year. Representing Greece during the event will be Konstantinos Harokopos, head of the Greek National Tourism Organization’s US department. The survey, conducted from July 15, 2023, to March 8, 2024, focused on a wide range of leisure, luxury, and lifestyle travel categories. Participants submitted their votes through the magazine’s online platforms, social media accounts, and special mail sent to subscribers.
