Greek hospitality group Mitsis Hotels has added a new destination in its portfolio with two new hotel units on the island of Corfu. The Group recently acquired the Messonghi Beach Hotel, a 4-star beachfront all-inclusive resort in the area of Messonghi and also signed a 10-year management agreement for the Belvedere Hotel, a 3-star seaside all-inclusive hotel in Agios Ioannis Peristeron. Both properties belonged to the Georgoulis family. The property acquisition marks the third in a row that Mitsis has completed within two years following its expansion with the addition of two hotels on the island of Crete in 2022. The property management agreement for the Belvedere Hotel marks the fifth contract the Group has entered into within one year, following its expansion agreements on Crete, Santorini, and in Halkidiki. Messonghi Beach Hotel The Messonghi Beach Hotel, Corfu. The new hotel of the Mitsis Group has a total capacity of 979 rooms and spreads over a coastal plot with a surface of 130 acres. Surrounded by lush greenery and a natural river, it combines mountain and sea views, offering accommodations with views to the pool, garden, or the Ionian Sea. Its beachfront location is ideal for water sports. The Old Town of Corfu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the airport are just 22 km away. Among the hotel’s facilities are two restaurants and four bars, two shared pools, two children’s pools, water slides, a water park, a wellness centre, conference facilities and a gym. Belvedere Hotel The Belvedere Hotel, Corfu. The hotel offers 170 rooms across five different room types and features a restaurant, two bars, and a shared pool, among others. Mitsis Group will contribute to the overall project design, developing the hotel’s brand concept, operational planning, as well as all technical, design, and construction specifications. Additionally, Mitsis Group will fully leverage the spectrum of innovative Hotel Operation Management services and digital infrastructure to ensure the optimal operation of the unit, following the most modern operational standards and procedures.
