Poseidonion Grand Hotel Celebrates 110 Years Since its Opening

The Poseidonion Grand Hotel on Spetses is celebrating 110 years of operation since its inauguration in 1914 and is ready to welcome guests for the new summer season.

Designed by architect Panagiotis Zizilas and funded by local businessman Sotirios Anargyros, the hotel was built in the architectural style of the Côte d’Azur hotels on the French Riviera.

The history of the Poseidonion Grand Hotel goes back to the summer of 1914. It has hosted famous personalities of the era, including Eleftherios Venizelos, prime minister of Greece between 1910-1920 and 1928-1932.

After a meticulous five-year restoration, the fully refurbished Poseidonion Grand Hotel reopened its doors in the summer of 2009.

“As we celebrate this important anniversary, we are deeply moved and honored to open the next chapter of Poseidon’s legacy, adding our own touch to its rich history,” said Poseidonion Grand Hotel CEO Antonis Bordonis.

The hotel comprises two buildings featuring superior and deluxe rooms and suites, several with private gardens or balconies offering spectacular views of the Dapia Port and the Argosaronic Gulf.

Gastronomy is a key part of the hotel’s hospitality experience, with a variety of dining options curated by the newly hired executive chef, Ilias Kiazoli. Guests can enjoy dinner at the award-winning restaurant On the Verandah, savor a light snack in the Library Brasserie, and discover al-fresco dining at the Bostani Farm-to-Table experience.

Additionally, Idolo Spa offers a collection of wellness services tailored to the preferences of guests. Beauty services by experienced professionals are available at the Hair & Beauty Salon, while Mageia Boutique by Ileana Makri hosts a collection of clothes, jewelry, and accessories perfect for summer on Spetses.

For nearby excursions, guests can take Poseidonion’s private speedboat to explore the island or enjoy a day at the private Paradise Beach, diving in crystal-clear waters and savoring culinary delicacies and signature cocktails.
