As part of an ongoing partnership, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) announced that it would be working with MasterCard to promote Greece through a joint communication campaign.

The new initiative, to run for a period of four months, aims to showcase Greece as a sustainable tourism destination to the Australian and UK markets.

Travelers are invited to discover Greece’s hidden beauties through the Visit Greece website and to participate in a series of unique experiences designed exclusively for MasterCard cardholders.

Among others, the GNTO and MasterCard have developed 10 sustainable experiences focusing on Athens, Paxi, Trikala, Astypalea, and Tilos, among other destinations. Holidaymakers are encouraged to explore the rich marine life of the Greek islands, sample local gastronomy, learn about traditions, culture, and history through art, and engage with the Greek countryside through activities such as cycling, hiking, and kayaking.

“We are further developing our strategic partnership with MasterCard with a joint campaign focusing on the experiences visitors can enjoy in Greece,” said GNTO Secretary-General Dimitris Fragakis, adding that the GNTO remains committed to sustainability principles and enhancing the competitiveness of Greek tourism globally.
