Taking into consideration the end of the academic year and students seeking budget-friendly destinations for their travels, CEOWORLD compiled a list of the best European cities, catering to the adventurous and budget-conscious student demographic. Following the selection process, which considered factors such as hostel prices, safety ratings and average meal costs, CEOWORLD announced the Greek capital city as this year’s top European destination for students. “Athens, the charming Greek capital, has been named the best European destination for students this year,” according to CEOWORLD. According to CEOWORLD, the Greek city offers a vibrant nightlife, appealing to young people, alongside a wealth of archaeological sites. Moreover, its urban transport system provides easy access to the region’s beaches. Athens also boasts a diverse array of cultural events and festivals, featuring some of Greece’s and the world’s most esteemed artists. Another Greek destination, Corfu, secured the 22nd spot on the list. Madrid, the capital city of Spain, claimed second place, while Lisbon, Portugal, took third. Other cities featured on the list include Prague, Porto, Valencia, Budapest, Istanbul, Amsterdam, and Sofia. However, this list is not solely about affordability. Reykjavik secured the 12th spot despite its “notorious” high costs, thanks to its geothermal pools, offering a great way to unwind from exam stress.
