The HolidayCheck Award recognizes the most popular hotels worldwide based on genuine reviews by German travelers. “This is a rare honor for a Greek hotel, as only five 5-star hotels have achieved such recognition,” stated the hotel’s management in an announcement. “This reflects our unwavering commitment to excellent hospitality services.” Situated along the tranquil “Elia Coast” of Sithonia, Anthemus focuses on sustainable practices, ensuring a luxurious yet environmentally conscious stay for its guests. The hotel has renovated more than 85 percent of its rooms, ensuring a modern and comfortable stay. Additionally, a third large outdoor pool has been built, offering guests a new enjoyable relaxation experience. Sustainability milestones In addition to self-funded initiatives from previous years, Anthemus continued to invest in and expand its sustainability commitments in 2024. These initiatives include: – Expansion of solar panels: Adding 400 kW, now totaling 800 kW. – Addition of shaded parking spaces: All 128 parking spaces are now shaded, combining comfort with energy efficiency. – Boosting recycling efforts: The hotel recycles glass, paper, plastic, aluminum, cooking oil, electrical appliances, toner, light bulbs, and batteries. It has invested in the advanced Bramidan B3 paper binding machine, allowing effective and efficient recycling of all hotel product packaging, significantly reducing waste. – Maintaining certification: The hotel boasts the Green Key environmental certification for more than 15 consecutive years and has been awarded the Blue Flag for its beach continuously for 24 years. According to Anthemus’ management, with the total installed photovoltaic panels of 800 kW and all investments in material recycling and energy saving, the hotel has managed to reduce its ecological footprint by 75 percent. “Therefore, we are one of the few hotels in the world that are very close to the international percentage (80 percent) to qualify as a ‘Green Hotel’, without relying on the emission market to achieve this goal.” It should be noted that positive reviews from guests of DER Touristik, Germany’s second-largest travel group, have ranked Anthemus among the world’s best 150 hotels. “This recognition underscores guests’ appreciation of our hotel and reinforces our ongoing commitment to excellence.” Further information on the Anthemus Sea Beach Hotel & Spa can be found here.
