We are entering a new period at EU level, with newly elected Members of the European Parliament and soon the nomination of Commissioners heading the executive body of the EU,” Oostdam said for continuing in his role. Oostdam is president of the Dutch Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (ANVR). In addition to Oostdam’s reelection, the ECTAA representatives elected Heli Mäki-Fränti from Finland as Vice-President and Jan Van Steen from Belgium as Treasurer. The Executive Board will also include Marios Kammenos from Greece, Pawel Niewiadomski from Poland, Daniela Stoeva from Bulgaria and Boris Zgomba from Croatia. According to Oostdam, ECTAA’s focus will be on concluding a fair and balanced revision of the passenger mobility package, which includes the Package Travel Directive, and ensuring the proper implementation of the Green Deal legislation adopted during the last mandate of the Commission. “I look forward to working with members and industry stakeholders in advancing the agenda of the travel and tourism industry,” he said.
