The event dedicated to Crete was organized by tour operator TUI Hungary and gave local authorities the opportunity to implement their strategy to promote the island to an international audience. Marking the recent launch of the twice-weekly direct flight between Budapest and Heraklion by WizzAir, 80 tour operators were introduced to Crete’s tourism potential and appeal as an ideal holiday destination. During a detailed presentation, the Deputy Governor of Tourism, Kyriakos Kotsoglou, emphasized the island’s unique features and explained how the tourism promotion strategy provides participants with the necessary tools to boost their sales for the destination. The Budapest-Heraklion route launched in June and will run until September.
