Greece’s thermal springs in Edipsos, Kaiafas, and Ypati have opened for the summer season, giving Greeks and visitors the chance to experience their therapeutic benefits. Managed by the Public Properties Company (ETAD), the thermal springs facilities offer a range of services tailored to the specific medical needs of visitors and residents. Thermal therapy is recommended for musculoskeletal, nervous system, gynecological, and endocrine disorders, as well as for skin and cardiovascular diseases. Edipsos Thermal Spa The Edipsos Thermal Spa with its superheated waters is located just 500 meters from the port of Edipsos and occupies an area of 23,500 square meters. Facilities includes: – 84 hydro-massage baths (regular baths, special treatment baths, baths for extremities, Scottish shower) – 10 whirlpool baths – an outdoor swimming pool that operates with a mixture of thermal and seawater – 2 indoor swimming pools – physiotherapy with exercise equipment and electrotherapy – a canteen – a conference room The facilities of the Edipsos Thermal Spa will operate until October 31. It is open between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, seven days a week, with the possibility of extended hours. Kaiafas Thermal Spa and Olympia Hotel Olympia Hotel. Visitors will have access to the Kaiafas Thermal Spa and Olympia Hotel until October 20. Facilities include: – individual hydrotherapy bathtubs – a medical clinic – customer lounges – an outdoor heated pool with sliding roof According to ETAD, the public will also have access to the fully renovated outdoor thermal pool and thermal baths, which are reopening this year for the first time since 2020. A special bath for people with disabilities is also expected to open soon. The Kaiafas Thermal Spa is open from 9 am to 5 pm, every day, weekends included. Ypati Thermal Spa Located about 18 kilometers west of Lamia in Central Greece, the Ypati Thermal Spa stands out due to the special physicochemical composition of its water, which is rich in carbonic acid and hydrogen sulfide, creating a rare therapeutic combination. The Ypati Thermal Spa has a large hydrotherapy center covering more than 2,600 square meters, which includes 80 baths of various categories, including baths for patients with severe skin diseases, multiple lounge areas, a 187-square-meter outdoor swimming pool, and a physiotherapy clinic. The Ypati Thermal Spa is open from 9 am to 5 pm. A doctor is always present at the thermal springs in Edipsos, Kaiafas, and Ypati. ETAD’s pricing policy includes special discounts for families and local residents, as well as reduced ticket prices for groups of more than 15 people. Discounts can also be made to people with disabilities and their chaperones, as well as for unemployed individuals, students, soldiers, as well as during the low season.
