In this direction, Aristotle Mayor Stelios Valianos signed a Service Provision Agreement with Maria Toktor, head of strategic planning at Greek Water Airports. “Our municipality will be connected to a network of waterways throughout Greece. This will make it easier for students and their parents, patients, businesses, professionals and workers, it will make it easier for residents and travelers,” said Valianos, adding that the two seaplane ports will contribute to improving accessibility and creating a development potential for the region. Under the agreement, Greek Water Airports will undertake the licensing process. The goal is for the project to be operational as early 2025. Maria Toktor, from Greek Water Airports, signing the Service Provision Agreement with Aristotle Mayor Stelios Valianos. On her part, Toktor said the decision upgrades the municipality’s position on the global tourist map offering access to the ports of Ouranoupoli and Ierissos and contributing to the quality development of the Aristotle Municipality and of Halkidiki. “The seaplanes will carry out various types of flights: regular and emergency passenger, sightseeing, hospital, cargo flights,” said Toktor, adding that the network will also contribute to the development of religious tourism offering alternative transportation options for visitors to Mount Athos. The flights will be carried out by Greek seaplane operator Grecian Air Seaplanes, which is currently in the process of acquiring an Air Operator Certificate (AOC), which will allow the company to carry out commercial flights.
