Covering news about the Greek travel industry since 1975 through print media, the Greek Travel Pages (GTP) introduced GTP Headlines to the web in 2013. The aim was to bridge the gap between the local industry and those abroad interested in the Greek travel industry. “I am incredibly proud of our editorial team at GTP Headlines, who wholeheartedly embrace this goal. Their dedication has been instrumental in achieving this recognition. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and provide our readers with insightful and engaging travel news,” Krinis added. Speaking during the ceremony, Angela Gerekou, president of the GNTO and chairman of the Travel Marketing Awards 2024 judging committee, highlighted the importance of rewarding the marketing and communication efforts that contribute to the development of Greece’s travel economy. “I am happy that in this new era for Greek tourism comes this new initiative, the Travel Marketing Awards, to give an additional boost to tourism, the ‘steam engine’ of our national economy, with the power of Communication and Digital Technology,” she said. Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism of Central Macedonia, Vicky Hatzivasiliou, applauded the launch of the Travel Marketing Awards 2024, an initiative that brought together “great people” who share the common goal of promoting Greece’s tourism. “This event highlighted the value and contribution of travel marketing and communication to the more effective promotion of our country’s tourism product, rewarding businesses that utilize good practices and modern trends,” Hatzivasiliou said. The Travel Marketing Awards 2024 were held under the auspices of the Greek Tourism Ministry and the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
