Photo source: My Thessaly The application process for subsidized holidays to Thessaly and Evros, which were hit by destructive floods and fires last year, has opened and eligible parties will be selected via a lottery draw. The deadline to submit applications (here) is June 28. Those selected for the “Thessaly Evros Pass 2024” tourism pass will be granted digital cards to cover vacation costs for the period and region they have selected. The program, budgeted at 4.45 million euros, covers accommodation, food, and local transportation in the two regions. Only tax residents of Greece, individuals who do not have their main residence in the selected destinations and have not received social tourism funding in the 2023-2024 period are eligible to apply. The program is divided into three regions: – Thessaly A, covering the municipalities of South Pelion, Zagora – Mouresi, and the municipal units of Agria, Portaria, Artemis, and Makrynitsa (Volos) with a subsidy of 100 euros – Thessaly B, covering the municipalities of Limni Plastira, Agia, Tempi, Pyli and Meteora with a subsidy of 150 euros – Evros, covering the municipality of Soufli and the municipal unit of Feres (Alexandroupolis) with a subsidy of 200 euros. Interested parties can apply using Taxisnet numbers. They will need a smart phone and email to verify their identity. The program covers holidays to be taken in July and August; September-October; or November – December.
