Thessaloniki’s appeal as a tourism destination was introduced to leading MICE buyers from the US and Canada during a fam trip organized by the city’s Makedonia Palace hotel. The trip was organized following the IMEX Frankfurt 2024 exhibition and saw the hotel’s management, in collaboration with hospitality firm WorldHotels, host 18 representatives from leading MICE organizations. The aim of the fam trip was to promote the top-notch services of the Makedonia Palace and Thessaloniki as a destination for MICE tourism to international markets. Attendees included representatives from Arrowhead Conferences & Events, FELD Entertainment, Inc., HelmsBriscoe, Prestige Global Meeting Source, Alpine Adventures, Maritz, ConferenceDirect, HPN Global, LamontCo, Strategic Site Selection, and Languages Canada. MICE buyers during their trip in Thessaloniki. During their stay, the guests explored Thessaloniki through cultural and gastronomy tours, and wine tastings. Additionally, a special dinner highlighting the authenticity of Greek hospitality was held at the hotel’s Salonica Restaurant. The menu was curated by the awarded chef Sotiris Evangelou. Situated by the city’s port, the Macedonia Palace is a member of BWH Hotels and the WorldHotels Luxury Collection. Through this collaboration, the hotel aims to expand its presence in international markets and enhance Thessaloniki’s appeal to new buyers.
