The prestigious recognition underscores the purity of its waters and commitment to visitor safety. The iconic Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognized voluntary awards for beaches, marinas, and sustainable tourism boats. Trusted by millions worldwide, the program is managed by the Foundation for Environmental Education, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. In Greece, the program’s coordinator is the EEPF. Under the hotel’s management, the beach provides all the necessary services and infrastructure required by the strict criteria of the Blue Flag program. These criteria include environmental education, information and management, bathing water quality, coastal environment and surrounding area protection, and the safety of bathers and visitors. “As a result of the core values that underpin our Group, which focus on continuous actions to ensure environmental and social sustainability, the Blue Flag also serves as a symbolic guide for offering high-quality services to visitors,” said Gelasakis Group Public Relations Manager Evi Tzagaraki. The La Mer Resort & Spa was also recently honored with the Green Key certificate, a leading standard of excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry.
