According to a press statement, these aircraft were expected to join the fleet by the peak summer travel season at the end of May. However, the delivery has been postponed, affecting the airline’s planned operations. “Despite our proactive efforts to mitigate the impact of this delay, including seeking alternative solutions with ACMI and closely collaborating with travel agents, the current situation has compelled us to adjust our schedule,” said Captain Andreas Georgiou, COO & Accountable Manager of Cyprus Airways. As stated by Georgiou, the airline focused these reductions on routes with alternative travel options to minimize disruption. Meanwhile, all affected customers have been notified and provided with alternatives, including options to rebook on different flights or request a full refund. The options offered include: – Rebooking on alternate Cyprus Airways flights. – Full refunds for those who prefer to cancel their travel plans. – Additional customer support representatives to handle inquiries and provide assistance. “We are working tirelessly with lessors to expedite the delivery of the A220 aircraft and are optimistic about enhancing our fleet and service offerings soon,” the Captain added. For further updates and assistance, passengers are advised to visit the Cyprus Airways’ website or contact its customer service team (email: callcentre@cyprusairways.com).
