On Saturday, July 13, from 10 am to 1 pm, the seminar titled “Basic Principles of First Aid and Lifesaving/Water Safety” will take place at the Serafio Swimming Pool (160 Pireos Avenue). This event is organized by the Department of Preventive Medicine, Health Promotion, and Public Health of the municipality. During the seminar, adults will receive training in identifying water hazards, administering basic medical aid in emergencies, first aid techniques, safe water entry methods, approaching individuals needing assistance, and proper techniques for retrieval and transportation. Photo source: Athens Municipality The initiative is supported by the City of Athens Cultural, Sport & Youth Organization (OPANDA) and Lifeguard Hellas, a specialized lifeguard training company. Interested participants can register by calling 210-2015510 (ext. 119 and 123). Participants interested in the pool practice session should bring swimming equipment, including a swimsuit, towel, cap, slippers, and optionally, swimming goggles.
