Photo source: My Thessaly Thirty-five thousand vouchers for holidays in Thessaly and Evros, which were hit by destructive floods and fires last year, have been awarded by the Greek government to applicants. The vouchers, from the “Thessaly Evros Pass 2024” program, credit 100 or 150 euros for those wishing to vacation in the Region of Thessaly in central Greece, and 200 euros for travelers heading to Evros, in the northeastern part of Greece. Intended for spending on meals, accommodations, or local transportation, the vouchers are directed to enhance tourism income in the regions of Thessaly and Evros. Thessaly experienced floods in September 2023, while Evros in the Regions of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace suffered extensive wildfires last summer. The 35,000 vouchers were distributed through a raffle process, as valid total applications amounted to 186,937. Agios Ioannis beach, Magnessia. Interested parties can check if they have won a voucher using their Taxisnet numbers. The Thessaly Evros Pass 2024 program is divided into three categories, offering vouchers for visits to specific municipalities. The program covers holidays to be taken in July and August, September-October, or November-December. Funded by the Greek Public Investment program, the voucher initiative resulted from collaborative efforts between the ministries of National Economy and Finance, the Interior, Tourism, Digital Governance, Climate Crisis, and Civil Protection.
