Photo source: International Half Marathon Renowned athletes from 43 countries will run alongside esteemed Greek runners at the International Half Marathon of Crete, emphasizing the importance of exercise for health and fitness. In its eighth edition, the International Half Marathon, scheduled for October 6, will feature a 21.1 km race for adults, 1 km, 5 km, and 10 km routes for children, and a 200-meter race for people with disabilities. Organized by the Arkalochori Health Sports Association, the marathon began in 2014 as a local race and has since evolved into a tourism attraction with international interest. Athletes from the US, Cyprus, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Argentina, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and other countries will participate in the event.
