Photo source: GNTO The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) office in Türkiye organized a press trip from July 4-7 to promote Alexandroupolis and Didymoteicho as city break destinations for Turkish travelers. Turkish journalists and influencers, including Mert Cengiz, Serra Boyvat, Fulya Sezen, and Deniz Gökçen, had the opportunity to meet with the mayors of both towns. Photo source: GNTO In Alexandroupolis, they met with Mayor Yiannis Zampoukis, who highlighted ongoing efforts to expand the town’s network of bicycle paths and develop various alternative tourism activities. During their visit to Alexandroupolis, the guests explored the Thrace Ethnological Museum, joined in the Nautical Week celebrations, sampled wines at Hatzisavvas Winery, visited the Kyklopas olive mill in Makri, and enjoyed a boat excursion to nearby beaches. Photo source: GNTO In addition, the Turkish journalists and influencers visited the traditional silk-producing village of Soufli near Didimoticho, including its Silk Art Museum. In Didimoticho, the guests were accompanied by Mayor Romylos Hatzigiannoglou, who guided them through the Byzantine Museum and the Great Mosque, also known as the Beyazit Mosque, a significant Ottoman monument in Europe currently undergoing restoration.
