Discovering local culture and traditions, spending time with family, and reading a good book by the pool or beach are among the top experiences that make up their perfect breakaway. Additionally, for British travelers being able to see the sea, getting a nice tan, and not always knowing what the time is are all things that give them that holiday feeling. “Holidays offer a unique opportunity to break away from the daily routine and experience new adventures,” said a spokesperson for Jet2holidays. Sharing the spotlight with Greece, Italy and Spain are two more Mediterranean destinations Brits would most like to visit to relax from the daily routine and enjoy new activities. Jet2holidays and Jet2.com this year launched their biggest ever program to Greece. Moreover, reflecting the British market’s preference for Greek destinations, the tour operator also expanded its summer 2025 program. Brits prefer their “perfect holiday” to last 11 days and have a daily step count of more than 10,000. Based on a study, the report reveals that from a sample of 2,000 holidaymakers, 37 percent prefer a beach holiday with an ideal temperature of 23 degrees, while 29 percent would rather choose a city break packed with sightseeing. Nearly four in ten (37 per cent) enjoy the thrill of seeing “where each day takes them” rather than setting an itinerary, and 70 percent think it’s important to experience “something new or unique”. Other things travelers look for on a holiday are good food, guaranteed sunshine, and a swimming pool bar. “We know that everyone has different desires and expectations when it comes to the perfect holiday,” said the spokesperson. Among the must-haves for a “perfect holiday” are comfortable accommodation, great food including culinary experiences, relaxation, stunning scenery, affordability, sea views, guaranteed sunshine, and family-friendly accommodation.
