Held June 23-25, the sold-out Summer Fancy Food Show 2024 attracted over 29,000 food and beverage professionals. Over its three-day span, the event featured more than 2,400 exhibitors from 56 countries and introduced at least 700 new products. To promote its goods in the American market, the regional authority participated with a pavilion featuring 12 Greek enterprises. The businesses had the opportunity to connect with visitors from the US, Canada, and other countries. “The US market is Greece’s sixth most important partner, absorbing 4.1 percent of the country’s total exports, with olive oil and cheeses, particularly feta cheese, being the leading export products,” said Vice-Regional Governor Bane Prelevic. Capitalizing on this advantage, the region attended the exhibition to highlight its renowned products, and to promote other lesser-known regional goods. Visitors were introduced to a variety of items, including organic goods, truffle products, fresh fruit, frozen vegetables, ready meals, sauces, spreads, pickles, biscuits, and olives. To expand its opportunities, the region organized a networking dinner in New York, introducing Macedonian products and professionals to importers, industry experts, and journalists. “We have many companies that are ready for export and others that need a little push to take the first step,” Prelevic added. Therefore, the region is implementing a systematic program that includes participation in exhibitions and organizing business meetings and missions to enhance extroversion and boost exports.
