The United Arab Emirates represents a crucial market for Greek tourism, given its dynamic prospects and high-quality features, according to Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni.

During a recent meeting with UAE Ambassador to Greece Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, Kefalogianni highlighted the investment opportunities in Greek tourism for entrepreneurs from the UAE.

The minister noted that the Tourism Ministry’s “one-stop-shop”, which has been operational for over ten years, along with new legislation regulating innovative investment tools, not only simplifies procedures for investors but also supports sustainability goals.

According to the ambassador, Greece’s vibrant tourism development has made it a “key focus” for institutional investors from the UAE.

Moreover, Kefalogianni emphasized that sustainable and green tourism development is of utmost importance to Greece.

She also mentioned Greece’s ongoing development as a sea tourism destination, discussing the upgrading and expansion of the country’s marina network and the need for new facilities.

Ambassador Al Dhaheri expressed his appreciation for the substantive discussion and acknowledged that the meeting marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration aimed at enhancing tourism traffic and investment between the two countries.

The ambassador was accompanied by Ahmed Alkhateri, the commercial attaché of the embassy, and the meeting also included various officials from the tourism ministry.
