From October 10 to 20, the Athenian neighborhoods of Omonoia, Vathi, Metaxourgeio, Agios Pavlos, and Larissa Station will serve as the backdrop for the festivities, known for their streets named after renowned and historic French personalities and events. In 2024, Little Paris will be organized under the theme “Impressionism and Diplomacy”, inspired by the ongoing conflicts around the world. Impressionism, an art movement rooted in a heightened form of romanticism, emerged shortly before the First World War, born from artists’ efforts to prevent its outbreak. Its main goals are to promote Greece’s artistic potential, strengthen the country’s cultural festival landscape, and foster cultural diplomacy and international networking, all aimed at boosting cultural tourism. This year, more than 500 artists will welcome attendees at various locations across Athens, including theaters, music venues, galleries, squares, conservatories, schools, historic buildings, and hotels. The program features art and photography exhibitions, theatrical, musical, and dance performances, street shows, lectures, panel discussions, painting sessions, sports, games, and other activities perfect for both children and adults. Those interested in presenting their work at the festival can submit their applications to petitparis.athenes@gmail.com by September 10. More information can be found at the festival’s site.
