Ethiopian Airlines on Thursday informed its trade partners that the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority has issued a directive regarding the recent outbreak of Monkeypox.

According to the directive, the Ethiopian Public Health Institute has initiated a screening process and is now requiring all passengers arriving in Addis Ababa who have traveled to the countries affected with Monkeypox to complete a Traveler’s Health Screening Form.

The list of countries affected with Monkeypox are: Burundi, Central Africa Republic, Cameron, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Ethiopian Airlines advises its trade partners to inform passengers accordingly to ensure that they adhere to the guidelines provided and complete the form during the flight before landing.

Furthermore, the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority has announced that the Travelers Health Screening form must also be completed by layover passengers who are staying in hotels in Addis Ababa before continuing their journey.
