Designed by the Municipality of Lemnos for mobile phones and tablets, the app is available in both Greek and English, featuring sections on attractions, museums, settlements, beaches, excursion suggestions, and other valuable information. “Our goal is for visitors to our island to always carry a ‘tourist compass’ that will guide them in discovering the best of Lemnos,” said Lemnos Mayor Eleonora Georga during a recent briefing to present the application. Additionally, once installed, LemnosApp does not require an internet connection. All information is stored on the mobile devices or tablets of users and will automatically update with new content and features as soon as they reconnect to the internet. This initiative is a joint effort between the municipality, a group of IT students, and the company AMKE- Limnos Touristic. “The municipality will continue to focus on creating content aimed at promoting tourism and showcasing Lemnos…making full use of technological possibilities,” Georga added.
