Event details The hackathon will be organized by Bilişim Vadisi, Türkiye’s Technology and Innovation Base, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Türkiye and the Athens Startup Business Incubator (Th.E.A of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry). This year’s theme, “Smart Cities”, aims to harness the creative energy of the brightest minds from both countries to develop solutions that will have a lasting positive impact on society. Objectives According to an announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens, the event’s goals include developing innovative solutions to enhance urban living through technology, addressing pressing environmental challenges, promoting sustainability, and improving safety and emergency response mechanisms. “Young people, through synergies and coordinated efforts, have the potential to bridge cultures, drive innovation, and create solutions that enhance the lives of citizens in both countries,” the announcement says. Participants will engage in intensive brainstorming sessions, workshops, and coding sprints while working in joint teams to tackle these significant challenges. Call for participation The governments of Greece and Türkiye invite high school and university students, entrepreneurs, and scientists aged 16-35 from both countries to participate in this landmark event. Details regarding the collaboration event and application procedures will be announced shortly. In the meantime, interested individuals are encouraged to start considering ideas related to “smart cities”.
