Censuswide, on behalf of the bank, surveyed 2,002 individuals online between June 4 and 7, exploring their vacation plans and spending habits. The results were adjusted to accurately represent the demographics of all UK adults aged 16 and over. According to the findings, 17 percent of Brits are choosing Greece for their holidays, placing the country in second place, while Spain is the most popular destination with 28 percent. The top five list is rounded by Italy (16 percent), France (14 percent), and Portugal (13 percent). The only exceptions were those aged 25 to 34 and parents traveling with children, who both favored city getaways. However, 57 percent of Brits avoid discussing their vacation expenses and never share that information with others. In contrast, younger travelers are much more forthcoming about their vacation spending, with 64 percent of 16- to 24-year-olds eager to talk about their out-of-pocket expenses. Conversely, just 22 percent of people over 55 are inclined to disclose their spending habits. Furthermore, 54 percent of parents who travel with their kids choose a family vacation overseas based primarily on the cost of the trip, with warm or sunny weather coming in second (51 percent) and lodging costs coming in third (44 percent). Mykonos, Greece. When questioned about unexpected journeys while on vacation, 36 percent said they have taken an unplanned day trip to a neighboring town or destination. The shift was most noticeable among people aged 55 and up, with 41 percent responding in the affirmative. Among popular gifts are souvenirs from famous locations (27 percent), local handicrafts or artwork (24 percent), and specialty foods or beverages (20 percent). Other favorites include postcards or stamps (17 percent), traditional clothing and accessories (16 percent), as well as vintage items from flea markets or market stalls (16 percent).
