The Pieria Tourism Development and Promotion Organization (POTAP) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Marketing Greece to highlight and promote the unique advantages of the regional unit of Pieria, located in the southern part of the Region of Central Macedonia.

Marketing Greece, a collaborative venture established by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH), specializes in showcasing and promoting various Greek destinations through digital campaigns. These efforts are supported by their Discovergreece.com platform and social media channels, focusing on the concept of “responsible travel”.

Local authorities in Pieria are eager to raise awareness of the region’s diverse tourist offerings. Pieria is known for its varied landscapes, including mountainous areas with Mount Olympus, semi-mountainous areas, valleys, and seaside destinations. The area also boasts rich historical and archaeological sites, unique agricultural products, a distinctive gastronomic identity, and a reputation for hospitality.

POTAP is committed to promoting sustainable tourism in Pieria while targeting quality tourists who will appreciate the region’s natural beauty and resources.

Pieria Deputy Prefect Sophia Mavridou highlighted that the partnership with Marketing Greece is expected to result in impactful advertising campaigns aimed at the global tourist market. POTAP President Giorgos Karalis emphasized that “Pieria possesses all the comparative advantages to cater to a wide range of tourist preferences.”
