The applications were crosschecked by the Greek Ministry for Climate Crisis and Civil Protection. Developed by the Greek government, the arogi.gov.gr platform is an online portal to facilitate the process of applying for financial assistance and compensation for individuals and businesses affected by natural disasters. On Monday, September 2, 114 homeowners registered on the government platform arogi.gov.gr were credited a total of 522,781.50 euros. Additionally, 20 business owners received 20,000 euros each after their applications were crosschecked by the Region of Attica authorities. Those affected by the wildfires on August 11 this year, which impacted the suburbs of Athens, are eligible for these initial payments to address immediate needs. They are also entitled to further funding for the restoration of their homes. Applications for initial emergency compensation via the arogi.gov.gr portal will be accepted until September 30.
