On Tuesday, the Greek State, the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund’s (HRADF) and Pylos Marina SA signed the concession agreement for the development of the marina of Pylos. The agreement, valid for 40 years, involves a concession fee of at least 1.5 million euros. Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and HRADF CEO Dimitris Politis represented the Greek State, while Ioannis Koutsodontis and Evgenios Dendrinos signed on behalf of Marina Pylos S.A. The agreement grants Pylos Marina SA exclusive rights for the use, operation, management, and development of the marina. Marina Pylos SA is a special-purpose company, with a 70 percent ownership by D Marinas Hellas Single Member SA and TEMES SA holding a 30 percent stake. The new marina will feature 130 docking spaces for boats ranging from 8 to 30 meters, on-land facilities for boat maintenance and repair, commercial shops, entertainment venues, and parking spaces. D-Marin’s expertise Ioannis Koutsodontis, Regional Manager for D-Marin in Greece and board member of Marina Pylos SA, highlighted that D-Marin also manages the Zeas, Lefkada, and Gouvia marinas in Greece. The company brings extensive expertise in marina development, known for its modern facilities and high-quality services. The investment in Pylos Marina is expected to be substantial, totaling around 10 million euros over the coming years. Pylos Marina S.A. will pay an upfront fee for the concession and will also remit a percentage of its annual income to the Greek State. Part of a broader vision Photo source: Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) During the signing ceremony, Minister Kefalogianni emphasized that the development of Pylos Marina aligns with the Tourism Ministry’s broader strategy to create a network of marinas in Greece. “Our goal is to integrate marinas with historical and cultural sites in Greece, offering a differentiated tourism experience, attracting high-income tourists, fostering economic development in coastal areas, and achieving economies of scale,” she said. The concession was signed in the presence of Grigoris Dimitriadis, CEO of Greece’s Growthfund, and Stefanos Theodoridis, President of the Board of Growthfund.
