Gelasakis Group to Promote Road Safety at EKO Acropolis Rally 2024

Gelasakis Group will sponsor renowned Greek driver Paschalis Chatzimarkos at the EKO Acropolis Rally 2024 this week, promoting the importance of responsible driving behavior.

Along with Gelasakis, car rental companies Let’s Drive and Carwiz will financially support Chatzimarkos, who will team up with driver Marios Tsaousoglou to compete in the Category Three rally, with the goal of reaching the top step of the podium.

In addition, Gelasakis will look to show how the car rental sector can contribute to the development of a new tourism identity for Greece.

“Through our sponsorship, we will emphasize the significant role the car rental sector can play in promoting alternative destinations within the country and in shaping a more comprehensive tourism identity,” said Gelasakis Group COO Vassilis Veloudios.

The 2024 EKO Rally Acropolis is a three-day event starting on September 5, primarily passing through Fthiotida, Central Greece. The rally began in the early 1950s as an endurance/marathon competition and became part of the World Rally Championship in 1973.

It is a major motorsport event covered by media from around the world and will be broadcast live and online in 92 countries. According to a latest research, the event attracts a global audience of 75 million viewers.

Kyriaki Bolieraki, Finance and Audit Manager of the company, emphasized that hosting a world-renowned event in Greece and broadcasting it to a global audience provides a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s landscapes and revitalize its tourism offering.

Additionally, the races provide an ideal platform for promoting responsible driving and road safety, values that align with the Group’s philosophy, Bolieraki added.
