The collaboration focuses on promoting friendship and cooperation between the two cities, with an emphasis on key sectors such as commerce, education, tourism, culture, and shipping. The Piraeus municipal authority has recently approved a Memorandum of Cooperation that is expected to lead to creative projects in these vital areas. The initiative aims to foster joint actions that could benefit both cities’ economies and enhance cultural exchanges. Piraeus, one of the most important industrial and commercial centers in Greece, participates in a variety of cooperation agreements with notable international partners. As Greece’s largest shipping hub, it connects the country’s capital, Athens, with both national and global destinations. The port also serves as a home base for numerous cruise ships, solidifying its role as a key player in maritime travel. Denpasar, the capital of Bali, is a gateway to the island and other cities across the Lesser Sunda Islands. With the rapid growth of Bali’s tourism industry, Denpasar has actively encouraged business activities and initiatives, contributing to the island’s high rate of economic development. The new partnership with Piraeus is expected to support further growth in commerce and tourism for both cities.
