Photo source: ITA Airways Greece ITA Airways hosted a commercial event in Athens on Thursday to update its local business and trade partners about the latest developments in the airline’s route network. Held at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, in collaboration with Athens International Airport (AIA)., the event took place in the presence of ITA Airways local team as well as airport executives. Athens-Rome: 4 daily flights The Italian airline offers 4 daily flights from Athens to Rome Fiumicino, ensuring excellent connections with all destinations of its network. Currently the carrier is operating 57 destinations, including 16 Italian domestic, 26 international and 15 intercontinental. Following the significant expansion of ITA Airways this summer in both medium and long-haul routes, from Rome Fiumicino to Chicago and Toronto in North America, to Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and to Accra and Dakar in Africa, the carrier will further expand in the upcoming winter season. New flights from Rome to Dubai and Bangkok ITA Airways, A321neo aircraft. ITA Airways announced a new nonstop flight between Rome Fiumicino and Dubai, which will be operated daily starting from October 27, as well as a new direct flight between Rome Fiumicino and Bangkok from November 16 with five weekly frequencies. All new flights ensure convenient connections from/to Athens. ITA Airways’ fleet The airline’s fleet is exclusively comprised of Airbus aircraft, with 58 percent consisting of the latest generation models. This includes wide-body aircraft such as the A330neo and A350-900, and narrow-body aircraft like the A320neo, A321neo, A220-300, and A220-100. The company aims to have around 90 percent of its fleet as environment-friendly aircraft by the end of the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. These aircraft will consume 25 percent less fuel and emit less CO₂, leveraging the company’s goal of becoming the greenest carrier in Europe.
