Photo source: Tourism EXPO Japan First launched in 2014, Tourism EXPO Japan (TEJ) is one of the world’s largest annual travel festivals, bringing together countries, regions, and destinations from across Japan and the globe. This year’s edition, scheduled from September 26 to 29, offers tourism professionals the opportunity to engage in both B2B and B2C meetings, expanding their networks within the Japanese travel market and internationally. During her visit to Tokyo, Minister Kefalogianni will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and promoting tourism collaboration between Greece and Japan. Her agenda includes a meeting with Japan’s Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism, Saito Tetsuo, as well as discussions with local professionals and entrepreneurs. Additionally, Kefalogianni will engage with journalists and participate in a panel discussion alongside tourism ministers from ten countries, as well as representatives from World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Moreover, in the context of the “2024 Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism”, the Greek minister will inaugurate the photography exhibition “Χαίρε Ξένε: In the Land of Dreams” by Robert McCabe, offering visitors a glimpse into Greece’s timeless beauty and rich history. Kefalogianni will also deliver a keynote speech at a special event organized by the Greek Tourism Ministry to celebrate the anniversary edition of Nikos Kazantzakis’ travel book “Travelling in Japan.” Newly translated into Japanese, the book recounts Kazantzakis’ journey to China and Japan in the 1930s. As part of her official visit, Olga Kefalogianni will meet with Her Imperial Highness Princess Kako of Akishino at the Imperial Palace on September 26.
