Launched last June, the app was developed in collaboration with the Digital Governance Ministry, utilizing cutting-edge technology rooted in AI and cloud computing models. The app was designed in compliance with the Microsoft Responsible AI Standard, ensuring transparency, fairness, respect for user privacy, and the protection of personal data (GDPR). The app is available in over 31 languages, including the 24 official languages of the European Union, along with Albanian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Hebrew, Arabic, and Korean. This enables users to easily navigate and explore Greece’s tourism offerings in their preferred language. Additionally, the app allows users to send an SMS to the operations center of the Ministry of Civil Protection via the 112 emergency number, including the sender’s geographic location for immediate assistance. The initiative was financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund, aiming to promote Greece’s digital transformation. Organized in 2011 by Boussias Events, the ΔΕΗ Bite Awards reward technology innovation in Greece.
