Greece Faces Limited Train Services on September 26 Due to Strike

Train services across Greece, including routes of the Suburban Railway, will be suspended or altered on September 26 due to a 24-hour strike by railway labor unions.

According to the unions, the strike was called in response to inadequate safety measures for passengers and railway employees, and to demand the immediate hiring of staff to prevent the intensification of work.

It should be noted that Metro routes in Athens to and from the city’s airport will operate as usual.

Certain routes to operate with security personnel

Hellenic Train has informed passengers that certain routes will operate with security personnel to ensure smoother travel across Greece. The routes are as follows:

– Athens – Thessaloniki: 52, 56

– Thessaloniki – Athens: 53, 57

– Kiato – Patras: C14, C24E

– Patras – Kiato: C15E, C23E

– Piraeus – Athens Airport: 1206, 1222, 1230

– Athens Airport – Piraeus: 1207, 1223, 1231

– Piraeus – Kiato: 1300, 1318, 1326

– Kiato – Piraeus: 1305, 1323, 2301

– Athens – Chalkida: 1532, 1550, 2530

– Chalkida – Athens: 1535, 1553, 2533

– Thessaloniki – Larissa: 1591, 1597, 2593

– Larissa – Thessaloniki: 1592, 1598, 2594
