Additionally, the number of flights increased by 2.3 percent during June, July, and August. Millions served at 24 regional airports In total, 5,810,734 passengers were served across 44,395 flights at the following airports this summer, compared to 5,534,000 passengers during the same period in 2023: Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupolis, Lemnos, Astypalea, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karpathos, Kythira, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastelorizo, Kassos, Leros, Sitia. Top performer: Heraklion Airport, Crete The standout performer was Heraklion “Nikos Kazantzakis” Airport, which served 4,610,002 passengers during the summer months, reflecting a 4.5 percent increase compared to the summer of 2023. Among the airports with the highest percentage growth, the following recorded remarkable increases: Kasos (by 99.6 percent), Sitia (49.3 percent), Milos (28.9 percent), Kalymnos (19.3 percent), and Araxos (14.7 percent).
