In September, the Greek capital ranked among the airline’s top destinations in the Euro-Mediterranean region, alongside Istanbul in Türkiye and Larnaca in Cyprus. Other favored choices included Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Rome in Western Europe, while Tivat and Podgorica emerged as the leading destinations within the region. Additionally, it is noteworthy that Air Serbia launched a direct route between Belgrade and Guangzhou in China in late September. “This marks our second destination in the People’s Republic of China and our fourth long-haul route,” stated Boško Rupić, General Manager of Commercial and Strategy at Air Serbia. Increase in passengers in September During September 2024, Air Serbia carried a total of 476,592 passengers on scheduled and charter flights, representing an increase of 4.3 percent compared to the same month last year. “The recorded monthly results during September show that passenger interest in our flights to various destinations across Europe remains high,” said Boško Rupić. “Thanks to this, we carried more than 470,000 passengers last month,” he added. Additionally, from the airports in Belgrade, Niš, and Kraljevo, Serbia’s national airline operated a total of 4,815 flights, marking a four percent increase compared to September 2023. In the first nine months of this year, almost three and a half million passengers flew with Air Serbia, reflecting a growth of 7.8 percent compared to the same period last year. In line with its expansion and commitment to enhancing the passenger experience, Air Serbia recently partnered with Sabre Corporation for a strategic IT collaboration, enhancing passenger experience and unlocking revenue opportunities through personalized travel experiences.
