Luxury hotel and resort company Four Seasons, in partnership with Blue Iris — a subsidiary of AGC Equity Partners — has announced the development of a high-end tourism complex on the Greek island of Mykonos. AGC Equity Partners is a global alternative asset investment firm operating from offices in London and the Middle East.

Set to welcome its first guests in 2025, the Four Seasons Resort Mykonos will be built on a 60,324 square-meter site along the scenic Kalo Livadi bay. The resort will feature 94 rooms, villas, and suites, all offering views of the Aegean Sea.

The announcement was made by Four Seasons EMEA President Adrian Messerli at the “Reimagine Tourism in Greece” conference hosted by Kathimerini. “Our investment in Greece reflects our commitment to destinations that align with our brand values, ideal locations, and trusted partnerships. In Greece, we are growing alongside our partners,” Messerli said.

Designed with respect for the island’s heritage, the luxurious resort will embody Cycladic architectural elements while seamlessly blending with the natural landscape. The renowned Greek architect Nikos Valsamakis is responsible for the project’s architectural design, while Wimberly Interiors will handle the interior design.

Leading the team at this new luxury resort will be General Manager Ryan Grande, who brings 14 years of experience with Four Seasons, including stints in Jackson Hole, Vancouver, and Costa Rica.

Guests at the Mykonos resort will enjoy an array of culinary offerings by the acclaimed Rockwell Group. Planned features include an open-air Italian restaurant by the pool, a modern Mykonian café, and a unique beachfront dining experience.

Four Seasons’ second venture in Greece

This marks Four Seasons’ second venture in Greece, following the acquisition of the Astir Palace Hotel on the Athenian Riviera by AGC Equity Partners, via Jermyn Street Real Estate Fund IV LP, in a deal valued at 44 million euros. AGC Equity Partners is supported by two sovereign wealth funds from Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.

The Astir Palace Hotel since late March 2019 is known as the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens.

Plans for further expansion in Greece

In an announcement, Bart Carnahan, President of Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons, highlighted the group’s goal to expand its presence in Greece.

“Greece has long been a priority market for us. Following our successful partnership with AGC Equity Partners on our award-winning property in Athens, we are confident this new Mykonos resort will be an ideal addition to our portfolio in this enchanting country,” Carnahan said.

AGC Equity Partners CEO Walid Abu-Suud echoed this sentiment, stating: “Our decision to extend our investment plans in Greece and create another landmark destination on Mykonos is a testament to our confidence and commitment to the country’s tourism sector.”
