In August 2024, CONVIN successfully organized the 34th European Conference on Medical Informatics (MIE 2024) at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens. Bringing together 780 delegates from 56 countries, this international event showcased the latest innovations in digital health and health informatics. With a spotlight on sustainability and the integration of health systems, the conference featured 341 oral presentations, 85 posters, and 12 thematic sessions, covering key areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Telemedicine, and Public Health Informatics. Distinguished keynote speakers, including Professors George Demiris and Anne Moen, addressed the vital role of technology in empowering citizens and improving elderly care systems.

ICDAR 2024: Pioneering document analysis and recognition 

CONVIN’s expertise was also critical in the success of the 18th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR 2024), held in Athens from August 30 to September 4. Co-organized by the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” and the Athena Research Center, this event attracted over 450 experts from across the globe. With its focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence and document analysis, the conference featured influential talks from leaders in the field, including a keynote by Professor Jürgen Schmidhuber, whose work in deep learning continues to shape AI’s future.

At the Global Antenna Technology & Industry Forum 2024, Huawei launched its brand-new Alpha series antenna, the first-ever antenna to simultaneously provide high efficiency, digital capabilities, and easy deployment, helping operators build eco-friendly, high-performance autonomous networks.

In addition to scientific conferences, CONVIN demonstrated its ability to deliver large-scale corporate events by supporting Huawei’s Global Antenna Technology & Industry Forum 2024 in Athens.
