Photo source: Santorini Hoteliers Association The Santorini Hoteliers Association (SHA) recently donated an ambulance to the National Emergency Care Center (EKAV) on Santorini to improve the island’s medical services. EKAV provides the country’s ambulance services. According to the association, the ambulance will soon be fully equipped to serve both residents and visitors, underscoring the center’s vital role. The delivery took place during the association’s annual assembly, where initiatives to promote Santorini’s tourism and enhance hospitality were discussed. During the vehicle handover, EKAB board members thanked the association’s former management and president Antonis Iliopoulos for spearheading the initiative to support the ambulance purchase. It should be noted that many Greek islands face problems with medical service issues, especially in summer when demand rises, including understaffing and shortages of vehicles and medical supplies.
