Photo source: Amorgos International Short Film Festival In its 15th edition, the festival will showcase short films from Greece and around the world, featuring screenings, competitions, and award ceremonies. This annual four-day event is co-organized by the Amorgos Cultural Women’s Association and the Municipality of Amorgos, and is a member of the Vienna-based international organization CIFFT. The festival’s main goal is to establish an international platform that promotes global tourism through audiovisual media, where experts share their insights with both amateur and professional filmmakers. “The festival contributes to the development of new collaborations based on the island of Amorgos and Greece,” organizers say at the event’s website, adding that the island is gaining international attention increasing its tourism appeal. The festival program will also feature the 7th Amorgos Film Academy and the 21st YPERIA Cultural Conference. The Academy’s program includes high-level workshops and lectures, offering a unique experience of education and inspiration. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the island’s most significant sites, taste local products, and discover Amorgos’ famous herbs. Additionally, they will enjoy traditional dances and music while engaging with the island’s hospitable residents and exploring locations that could inspire filmmakers. 21st Yperia Cultural Conference Photo source: Amorgos International Short Film Festival Featuring a rich program of activities, the 21st Yperia Cultural Conference will focus on culture, gastronomy, and cinema. The conference will place special emphasis on the cultural heritage of the Cyclades, with dedicated presentations highlighting Amorgos and the Cycladic islands.
