Photo source: Mitsis A more favorable investment framework for tourism projects that emphasizes sustainability and environmental protection is taking shape in Greece, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni announced on Friday. Speaking at an event hosted by Mitsis Hotels Group on Rhodes to unveil renovation plans for the historic Mitsis Grand Hotel, the minister highlighted significant achievements and positive developments in the Greek tourism sector, which has propelled the country into the ranks of the top ten global destinations. Photo source: Tourism Ministry Kefalogianni highlighted that Greece’s success results from a collective effort by the government, institutions, businesses, and tourism sector professionals. “The Government and the Tourism Ministry are establishing a solid foundation for the future of Greek tourism. Our aim is to foster the qualitative development of tourism in Greece,” Kefalogianni said. She added that the aim is to create a sustainable tourism product that prioritizes environmental protection, cultural heritage, and the preservation of each destination’s unique identity. Photo source: Mitsis Referring to Mitsis Group’s plans to fully renovate the Mitsis Grand Hotel on Rhodes, Kefalogianni emphasized the importance of hotel infrastructure investments in elevating Greece’s tourism offerings. “The upgraded Mitsis Grand Hotel on Rhodes, with its sustainable design, environmentally friendly practices, job creation, and support for the local economy, will play a key role in achieving Greece’s strategic tourism objectives,” she said. “It will also become a new landmark for the city of Rhodes.” Kefalogianni commended the Mitsis Group and the Mitsis family for their business initiatives, noting that Mitsis Group has long been a leader in Greek tourism and continues to drive significant investment. “Mitsis has developed a Greek hotel brand with international recognition, strengthening travelers’ trust and preference for Greek hospitality,” she concluded.
