Developed as part of the ministry’s initiative to enhance services for passengers, the portal aims to provide accurate, comprehensive information and improve safety at the country’s ports and ferries. “The new digital portal, ‘Passenger Rights,’ represents a substantial step in updating the services offered by the ministry. It is designed to better serve passengers and ensure they are well-informed”, said Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Christos Stylianidis. The portal features four key categories of information. Passengers can look up their rights at sea, discover the actions they can take to protect those rights (a complaint form is included), view a ticket price tracking tool, and access details on accessibility for individuals with mobility limitations at port facilities and on vessels. The new ‘Passenger Rights’ digital portal is accessible here: https://passengersynanp.yna.gov.gr/ and is currently available only in Greek. He noted that the “Price Observatory”, a ticket price tracking tool, was long overdue. “We have implemented it, and now Greece has a tool to monitor real-time ticket prices,” he said During a six-month pilot phase, the “Price Observatory” tool recorded issued ticket prices and can now give users a realistic view of ticket price fluctuations. Data gathered during this period has been forwarded to the Competition Committee for further review. Supporting accessibility for passengers with mobility limitations The new portal also includes resources for people with mobility limitations. The feature aligns with the Greek government’s commitment to improving accessibility, as outlined in the “National Action Plan for the Rights of People with Disabilities”, and reflects the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy to enhance infrastructure across all areas. “We are taking another step to meet the needs of citizens facing accessibility challenges, while acknowledging there is still more to be done,” said Stylianidis. “I am confident that citizens will embrace this initiative and contribute to further improvements through their feedback.” Join the 15,000+ travel executives who read our newsletter Follow GTP Headlines on Google News to keep up to date with all the latest on tourism and travel in Greece.
