These new operating hours, part of the new transportation strategy of the Region of Attica, reflect the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation’s commitment to enhancing public transportation systems, aiming to create cities that are more accommodating for residents and visitors. “We hope the extension of metro hours every Friday and Saturday night will meet the transportation needs of citizens, especially young people and visitors to our capital,” said Greek Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras. According to Staikouras, the ministry is working alongside transport entities, such as Urban Rail Transport S.A. (STASY), to improve services for the public.
