Scheduled for November 14-16 at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, this year’s Philoxenia-Hotelia is expected to see an increased number of international participants, including representatives from Oceania, which will be attending for the first time. Key themes of the expo will include the tourism landscape for 2025, highlighting the most attractive and emerging domestic destinations, developing relations with significant markets for Greek tourism, and showcasing the latest trends in accommodation equipment. TIF-HELEXPO states that the central message of the 2024 event revolves around “Tourism and Peace”, with cultural tourism serving as an educational outlet that promotes the peaceful coexistence of diverse communities. Didymoteicho: The honored destination This year, Didymoteicho has been designated the Honored Municipality at Philoxenia-Hotelia. “This municipality offers a rich blend of high-quality tourism experiences, bolstered by its vibrant multicultural character that appeals to a wide range of travelers,” according to the organizer. Additionally, the Greek Ministry of Culture will participate for the first time in Philoxenia-Hotelia, through its Organization for the Management and Development of Cultural Resources (ODAP). The ministry will serve as the primary organizer of several events and initiatives at the expo, with Didymoteicho’s multicultural allure serving as a focal point. The exhibition will also feature a photography exhibition and contest titled “Philoxenia & Culture,” organized by the Greek Instagramers Events Social Media & Culture Community. TIF-HELEXPO announced its continued collaboration with the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which provides subsidies to its member companies wishing to participate in the Hotelia segment of the expo. This year’s expo will have the support of several key participants, including the Greek Ministry of Tourism and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). The double expo will take place under the auspices of these bodies. Exhibitors and supporters of the expo include the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (HHF), the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FEDHATTA), the Ministry of Culture, various tourism destinations (municipal and regional authorities), hotels, airlines, ferry companies, and construction, technology, furniture, equipment, and renovation firms.
